In the past he has traveled extensively with athletic teams and has been a physician for
two Olympic teams, as well as for professional football and hockey.
His main academic interests are:
arthroscopy,
sports
medicine,
computers
and
electronic
communication.
This
past year he has produced several interactive educational CD-ROM's
on arthroscopy and sports medicine.
He beeb president of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and on the board of directors of the
International Society of Arthrosocpy, Knee surgery, and Orthopedic Sports Medicine as well
as actively serving on committees with the these associations. The main focus on
both associations is teaching and communications. He has been a consultant for ConMed/Linvatec for the past 20 years.
He serves as a reviewer of
papers related to arthroscopy and sports medicine for the Journal of Arthroscopy,
The Bone and Joint Journal, and the journal of Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research.
He is an associate editor of the
Journal of Arthroscopy
Outside
of medicine he keeps physically active in biking, x-country skiing, and running. Recently,

He has authored half a dozen book chapters, wrote numerous scientific papers, and lectured
extensively. He is known as an international speaker and lecturer in arthroscopy and
sports medicine. In 1997 he lectured in South Africa, Argentina, Australia, Mexico, United
States and Canada. In many of those countries he also demonstrated surgical technique for
reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee.
