Lateral Subluxation of the Patella

This is the dynamic presentation of lateral subluxation of the patella. With the knee in full extension, the patient is asked to contract his quadriceps, the patella subluxates laterally. This continuous subluxation or malalignment of the patella, ultimately results in patellofemoral chondromalacia.
