Active Lachman Test
This test demonstrates the anterior subluxation of the tibia at 20* of knee flexion. This is the same result as the examiner performing a Lachman test on the anterior cruciate deficient knee. The test is performed by asking the patient to lift the foot off the table while the knee is supported on the thigh block for the KT-1000 arthrometer. When the quads is contracted the tibia is pulled anteriorly. This anterior translation can be measured with the KT-1000 arthrometer, and in this case it was 10 mm more than the normal side. The test confirms that the anterior cruciate ligament is deficient, or not functional.
